Historical Plaster is not drywall. Although this seems obvious, we are here to report the repairs we’ve seen out there in the trenches suggest this not commonly appreciated. Homes built prior to 1945 may well have been constructed with wood lath, followed by base plaster and a finish coat. Over time, plaster can become very dry and crack. Damaged or weaken keys (behind the lath) can cause large areas to delaminate from the wall or ceiling. We value historical properties and want to help preserve their charm by removing damaged plaster and repairing with materials that match the density of the surrounding areas. Smooth and sound walls, free from sprawling cracks, efflorescence and other unsightly issues can be yours!
